Definitions

"CapeShop", "we", "us", and "our" mean the CapeShop website and store. "You" and "customer" mean a visitor, account holder, buyer, or support requester using CapeShop.

"Website" means capeshop.net and any CapeShop pages, dashboards, checkout flows, support pages, or related services. "Personal data" means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you, such as account details, order records, payment references, support messages, and technical data.

"Product" means a digital cape code, preorder, delivery item, or related digital product listed for sale on CapeShop. "Service providers" means third parties we use to operate the Website, process payments, provide login, deliver support, prevent fraud, or keep the store secure.

Information we collect

We collect the information needed to run CapeShop, including your email address, display name, account ID from login providers, avatar URL, order details, purchased product IDs, delivery status, support history, discount code usage, selected currency, and account settings.

We also collect technical and security data such as cookies, session identifiers, IP address, browser type, device information, approximate location derived from technical data, timestamps, request logs, fraud-prevention signals, and error logs.

For payments, we process payment status, Stripe checkout session IDs, payment intent IDs, order metadata, refund status, and related transaction references. CapeShop does not store your full payment card number or full card security code.

Login providers

If you sign in with Google or Discord, we store the account ID, email address, display name, and avatar URL returned by that provider so your CapeShop account can be created and recognized.

If you disconnect a login provider or link another provider, we may keep records needed to secure your account, prevent abuse, and maintain order history.

How we use data

We use personal data to provide login, account management, cart and checkout functionality, order handling, digital code delivery, preorder management, customer support, refund or replacement handling, fraud prevention, discount validation, security, analytics, and service improvement.

We may also use data to send order confirmations, delivery updates, support replies, account security notices, policy updates, and other service messages related to your use of CapeShop.

The legal basis may include performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in operating and securing CapeShop, complying with legal obligations, and consent where required.

Cookies

CapeShop uses necessary cookies for sessions, login, cart contents, selected currency, discount codes, checkout state, fraud prevention, and security. These cookies are required for core store functionality.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but blocking necessary cookies may stop login, cart, checkout, or account features from working correctly.

Payments and third parties

Payments are processed by Stripe. Login may be provided by Google or Discord. These third parties process data under their own privacy terms when you use their services.

We may share the minimum necessary account, order, payment, technical, or support information with service providers when needed to process payments, deliver codes, prevent fraud, maintain security, host the Website, analyze errors, or answer support requests.

We do not sell personal data. We also do not share personal data with third parties for their independent advertising use unless you have given consent or the law allows it.

Support and communications

When you contact us by email, Discord, ticket, or another support channel, we may store the messages, attachments, account details, order references, and troubleshooting information needed to respond to you and protect against disputes or abuse.

Service emails and support messages are not marketing messages. If we ever send optional marketing messages, we will provide a way to opt out where required.

How long we keep data

We keep account and order data for as long as needed to provide CapeShop, support purchases, handle disputes, process refunds or replacements, prevent fraud, and meet accounting or legal obligations.

Security logs, technical logs, support messages, and analytics records may be kept for shorter or longer periods depending on operational need, abuse prevention, legal obligations, and whether an order or dispute is still active.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including if you are in the EU or EEA, you may have the right to be informed, access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict processing, receive data portability, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and challenge automated decisions that significantly affect you.

To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some rights may be limited when we need data for order records, fraud prevention, legal claims, or legal obligations.

International processing

CapeShop and its service providers may process data in different countries depending on where our hosting, payment, login, security, and support providers operate. When data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect CapeShop accounts, orders, and support data. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so customers should keep their login credentials private.

Children

CapeShop is not intended for children who are not old enough to make online purchases or provide personal data under the laws that apply to them. If you believe a child provided personal data without proper permission, contact us so we can review the account or order.

Minecraft affiliation

CapeShop is not affiliated with Mojang, Minecraft, or Microsoft.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when CapeShop changes, when we add or remove service providers, or when legal requirements change. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

If a change materially affects how we use personal data, we will take reasonable steps to make the update clear before or when it takes effect.
